About the ACWA Scholarship

It is the mission of the American Chuck Wagon Association Scholarship Fund to provide financial assistance to those showing interest and promise in continuing their education in a collegiate or trade program. ACWA scholarships are awarded on an annual basis. Half the awarded amount of will be applied the first semester and the other half the second contingent upon satisfactory progress. Funds are sent directly to the educational institution for each semester or quarter. The ACWA is proud to be able to offer assistance to deserving young people dedicated to furthering their education. The first college scholarship was awarded for the 2008/2009 school year. 2017-2018 ACWA Scholarship Recipients

Brandon Roy-ACWA Scholarship Recipient

Brandon Roy is from Christina, Tennessee. He is a junior at Middle Tennessee State University. Brandon grew up in Arkansas until 2006 when his family moved to Tennessee. He grew up around his grandfather's farm, Dutch oven cooking and hanging out with the horses, cattle and dogs. This influence stayed with him going through to become an Eagle Scout in 2014 at the age of 16. Also onto college where he is studying Animal and Equine Science. Having helped his grandfather, Johnny Kee at chuck wagon cook offs and farming he is already making plans to carry on the 'old ways' and farming with his soon to be wife, Katylynn.



Rankin White-ACWA Scholarship Recipient

Rankin White is from Austin, Texas. He will be a freshman at Austin Community College and hopes to transfer to the University of Texas to major in communications. He was raised in the city, but loved spending time in the country with his grandparents, Lonnie and Barbara Tegeler at their ranch in Chappell Hill, Texas. For the majority of his life he has gone along with his grandparents and family to chuck wagon cook offs around Texas and New Mexico and has always had a passion for the life of the American cowboy. From an early age, he dreamed of one day being a 'real cowboy' - riding trails, driving cattle and sitting around the campfire late at night. He hopes to continue to work on his family's Rocking T Chuck Wagon for many more years to come!
