ACWA & Youth Scholarship

About the ACWA Scholarship

It is the mission of the American Chuck Wagon Association Scholarship Fund to provide financial assistance to those showing interest and promise in continuing their education in a collegiate or trade program. ACWA scholarships are awarded on an annual basis. Half the awarded amount will be applied the first semester and the other half the second contingent upon satisfactory progress. Funds are sent directly to the educational institution for each semester or quarter. The ACWA is proud to be able to offer assistance to deserving young people dedicated to furthering their education. The first college scholarship was awarded for the 2008/2009 school year. Interested applicants should download the application for more information.

Scholarships are funded by cookbook sales, honorariums, memorials and donations. If you are interested in helping with this effort, donations can be sent to:

As one reference letter stated, "Since Dakota grew up around the chuck wagon, he is no stranger following his dad's and grandad's teachings. Learning what is required in different areas of cooking for the public or in contest." Also stated, "I have seen him in the community and am proud of the way he presents himself and is respectful toward his family. This young man is worthy of many accolades for his work, school, and reaching for an education... He is a new spirit in this world." Dakota is attending South Plains College in Levelland, Texas and hopes to go onto a four-year university to obtain a degree in exercise science with the goal of becoming a physical therapist. Congratulations to Dakota and good luck on his future!

Sydney is part of the Circle F Wagon & Firehouse Camp wagon. Her legal guardians are ACWA members, Bryan and Katrina Fullingim. One of her reference letters stated, "In her toddler years, she became a part of our chuck wagon family, the Circle F Wagon. She followed us every footstep and became one of our own, traveling with us to many contests and caterings. She was right there in our arms as we were able to bring home multiple National and World Championships. Today Sydney is a caring, smart, enthusiastic and determined young lady that strives each and every day to be the best she can be." Sydney plans to attend Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas to major in business and hopefully one day to own her own funeral home. Congratulations to Sydney and good luck on her future!
